Morning Rain

I’ve been up, in bed, listening to the rain fall and the cars whiz by. I’ve been praying, repeating mantras. Anything not to think of you. The problem is I feel you in my bones. You’re in my favorite songs. Even in the prayers that I say to escape from thoughts of you.

On these slow, lazy mornings I reach out for you; yearning to feel your warmth. The cold creeps back in. Back to listening to the rain and cars. Anything to escape you.
